Classes 3-4. Tuesday-Thursday 30/09-02/10

Hello and welcome three more new students to our class! Hope you´ll have fun and learn lots of things.

This week we did a lot of pronunciation. We learnt that the vowels a, e, i, o, u can be pronounced differently depending on their position in the syllable.
In closed syllables we can find short sounds:
a /æ/- cat
e /e/ - bed
i /ɪ/- pin
o /ɒ/- pot
u /ʌ/- cup

There´s a rule of magic "e" that makes those vowels sound like the letters of the alphabet:
a /ei/ - name
e /i:/ - theme
i /ai/ - time
o /ou/ - role
u /u:/ /ju:/ - rude, tune
